This singer, musician, teacher, preacher, author, brother, friend, and much more is a native of Kansas City, MO. His parents instilled in him a foundation rich in the love of God and gospel music. Continuing his musical heritage, Lamont has learned multiple instruments and perfected his musical gift.
He’s been blessed to share the stage with artists such as The Kansas City Boys Choir, The Harlem Boys Choir of New York, Richard Smallwood, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Byron Cage, and many others!
Lamont is a graduate of Southeast High School (1999) and the University of Missouri-Columbia (B.A. in Music Performance, 2005).
In 2002, Lamont began his career with Shelter Insurance Companies as an intern and became employed full-time by the company in 2006. He has more than 20 years of customer service experience and has celebrated many accomplishments. Some include 1st place victory at the national BSU retreat choir competition, four years directing the LBC gospel choir (MU), founding Lamont Walker Ministries, & releasing his first book “Internal Pieces.” Lamont, along with his church choir, Voices of Power and Glory, recorded and released their first single entitled He Did It Again. Shortly thereafter, Lamont recorded and released his very first solo single, Love Lifted Me. Lamont’s newest song, Healing for the Nation, was released in February of 2026. In 1999, Lamont came under the covering of Apostle Dr. R. L. Freeman, where he remains submitted and covered. Under Apostle Freeman’s tutelage, Lamont received his ministry license in 2004, was ordained as an Elder in 2005, and was elevated to the position of General Overseer in 2009. He served as overseer of music & performing arts for his church, United Community Cathedral, and the fellowship, Christians Equipping Christians for Outreach (Presiding Prelate: Apostle Dr. R. L. Freeman, Metropolitan Covering: Bishop Larry D. Trotter). On October 5, 2014, Apostle Freeman appointed Overseer Walker to serve as assistant pastor of United Community Cathedral and he was installed on August 29, 2015. Four years later, on May 19, 2019, Pastor Walker was consecrated to the office of the Bishopric under the ministry of United Community Cathedral. Shortly thereafter, Bishop Walker received a vision from God that would shift his function in the apostolic. On May 21, 2021 Bishop Walker was consecrated and affirmed in the office of Apostle under the ministry of United Community Cathedral. Apostle Walker faithfully served UCC for 22 years before relocating with his family to Reno, NV in 2021.
He volunteers as a mentor for United Community Builders’ CDC program, Weekend With The Boys. He also serves on the artistic staff of the Choral Arts Alliance of Missouri as director of the Columbia Community Gospel Choir.
This past July, Apostle Walker obtained his first associate’s degree in claims. He is on track to obtain two more associate’s degrees in claims management and insurance services, which will be completed in January of 2027. At the same time, Apostle Walker is enrolled at Liberty University Christian College, where he is completing a master’s program in mental health and professional counseling. Driven by a commitment to mental health, his goal is to obtain licensure as a Clinical Professional Counselor to guide men through healing and enhance their capacity for healthy relationships.
Apostle Walker has traveled across America spreading the good news of the Gospel through anointed music, teaching, and preaching. He enjoys parenting and spending quality time with his two sons, Kingdom and Sovereign. He also enjoys traveling, shopping, ministry, and a good game of chess! His vision is to renew the mind, body, and spirit for healthy living.
